We sell more than 6,000 different products, mainly non-food. Surprising our customers with a broad and ever-changing assortment of products and an excellent value in terms of quality and price; this was the goal of the founders back in 1993, and it still is today. In the various countries, we have country offices - which are managed by the international office in Zwaagdijk, the Netherlands.
The stores are stocked daily from the company’s three distribution centres in the Netherlands and France. To support our further expansion, we have started to build a new distribution centre in Biblis this last September, which is located in the in the south of Germany. This centre is expected to be fully operational in the spring of 2017. A fifth distribution centre is being built near Toulouse in France. This centre is expected to be fully operational in the autumn of 2017.
Action is experiencing strong growth. In terms of turnover, results, number of stores and employees. Wherever we establish ourselves, we boost the local economy and create jobs. It is our ambition to continue to grow in Europe.
Job Description Business Controller logistics
What are your main responsibilities?
Due to the rapid and continuous growth and transition of Action, we are looking for a Business Controller Logistics – region NL who can strengthen and support the team.
You will be responsible for reporting periodic results and KPI’s. In addition to providing a view of the logistical performance the Business Controller Logistics is driving improvement by supporting and challenging the logistical management of our dc’s in Zwaagdijk-Oost and in Echt. You have an important, independent and visible position to the Dutch logistical organization being a critical and proactive sparring partner. At the same time you will be able to communicate confidently with the supply chain director, logistical management of the Dutch dc’s and other senior leaders helping to drive the long and short term strategy for the organization.
This is a varied role with tasks ranging from to timely, accurate and complete reporting and analysing of the logistical performance to supporting the preparation of forecasts, budgets and strategic plans and business cases.
Therefore it is essential that you have strong leadership and communication skills both in Dutch and English. In combination with a strong eagerness to develop and optimize the Logistical control function.
The perfect candidate is a result driven person with a clear way of approaching people , communicate very clear on certain levels in the organization and is willing to investigate in Action and will help to improve the performances of various assignments in the logistic organization.
Professional Profile Business Controller logistics
- University degree, potentially complemented with Registered Auditor/ Controller grade.
- 5-8 years of relevant finance experience in large dynamic international retail/FMCG environments.
- Highly analytical thinker.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (such as SAP and Hyperion).
- Excellent interpersonal (communication) skills and a team player.
- Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced international environment.
- Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables.
